Our favorite Georgia campground so far! The lake view from site 76 is great. Sites are generally large and mostly level. The place was clean. Didn't try the showers. We were also able to launch our inflatable boat from the next campsite over. There were very few mosquitoes or other bugs.

We had a great time at the Duckett Mill campground. The site was long enough for our 34' class A and our tow car, a 2015 Nissan Pathfinder. The sites are well spaced, so we could see our neighbors, but they were not right on top of us. The park is easy in and easy out, we had no trouble getting to the site. Site 86 is a pull through with a nice view of the Lake Lanier. The pad was concrete, and the area with the picnic table and fire pit was asphalt, I believe. The site had water and 50A electric hookups. No cable or sewer. We didn't get the satellite turned on in time, so I can't comment on the service. There is a roped off area with a beach near the entrance. No store on site, but there are grocery stores within a few miles. The campground was clean and well kept. The bathrooms were older and a little run down. I did not visit the showers. They lock the gates at 10:30. There were lots of kids running around, so be careful driving, but everyone was respectful and the kids were no loud and obnoxious. There is a dump station near the park exit that was easy to use, so we dumped on the way out.

A nice quiet relaxing campground. Level concrete pads. Site 26 had a great view of the lake and sunsets. The only negative about this park was that some of the "driveways" down to the pads were quite steep including ours, lots of travel trailers scraped rear bumpers backing in and leaving their sites. We noticed scrapes on sites 8,11,12,22,23,24,25,26,27,28,43,44,46,64,65,74,75,87,91.

This is a great campground on Lake Lanier. Water and 50amp at site with double dump station in the park. The original site we had (43) was too small for our truck and 5th wheel even though the website said we would fit. When we pulled up to check in the host knew we were going to have a problem so they put us in another site and gave us a choice of sites after the weekend. We liked our location so we didn't move. The hosts are great here.
The Park is clean, sites are good size with space in between. Restrooms/ showers are really nice and cleaned daily. There is a swimming beach and 2 fishing jetties. We will be back

The main feature of this campground is proximity and access to Lake Lanier. All of the RV sites here are excellent, but there are a number of sites that have AMAZING views of the lake - see our blog post for a list of sites that have waterside views . . . https://ourepicfieldtrip.com/2019/07/06/lake-lanier-duckett-mill-campground-army-corps-of-engineers-gainesville-ga/

What a beautiful site! Nice and shady. Near the water, but higher up and hard to walk down. Went down to fishing area. Kinda hilly and turns.

We had just come from Sawnee COE Campground when we arrived at Duckett Mill, and we loved it there. However, we were blown away by the beauty of Duckett Mill. There are countless sites with spectacular lake vistas and the campground itself is very well laid out. Our site (19) was advertised as having a "lakefront" view, but it was mostly obscured. Nevertheless, we had a great view across the street from our site and a short walk to move to-die-for views.
I had to take whatever was available when my original reservation at Old Federal was cancelled, so I had no complaints about Site 19. If you're looking for Site nirvana, however, my (subjective) favorites were 4, 14, 47, 50, 69, 76, 82, 98, 99, and 100. Another person could probably pick another 10 and I wouldn't be able to argue.
We had a 32 ft. Class C towing a dolly and had no problem getting around. Some of the larger rigs might have a tighter squeeze, but it's doable to get anywhere. There are three bath houses scattered among the various peninsulas, and there's a very wide and accessible swimming beach near the entrance.
Cell service was good (we had three 4G LTE bars with Verizon). The city of Gainesville, GA is about 5 miles away, and Dawsonville, which also has excellent infrastructure, is about 8-10 miles from the park entrance. The terrain is very hilly, as is true in most of the Lake Lanier parks, but if you have e-bikes, the ride around each loop of the park is very enjoyable.
There are several "pocket park"-like areas where you can sit on a bench and solve the world's problems or fish, and there is a boat launch just outside the campground to the left of the entrance to Duckett Mill with ample parking.
There are really no negatives other than the sometimes absurd enforcement of petty rules. We had our bicycles parked under our awning on the dirt portion of our picnic area, and the park host drove up and told us we had to park our bikes on the concrete driveway. That was a head-scratcher. But other than that, Duckett Mill was exceptional in every way. We plan to return and snag one of the "Top Ten" mentioned above.

The sites are large and the lake is beautiful.I love the lake but we will be looking to stay at the nearby Bolding Mill Campground on our next trip. The problems:
1. You’ll have to have a “Raid Parade.” The ants are ridiculous. We’ve stayed at several unattended federal campgrounds out west and never had this problem. There is NO reason for a campground with attendants to have this issue. They could easily treat with a water soluble pesticide, but instead, they’re leaving people to treat on their own with products that could potentially pollute the water.
2. No delivery. We’re trying to be responsible and “socially distance” ourselves which is why we’re in an RV in the first place. It allows us to drive to job sites rather than fly. So, while we’re parked, I typically have groceries delivered, have the delivery driver leave the groceries outside, and grab them once the driver leaves. But the Duckett Mill attendants won’t even let delivery drivers through the gate. Who are they to decide who I can and cannot have at my campground? The authoritarian attitude is a bit over the top. It’s a PUBLIC campground—not a prison. Which leads me to...
3. The gates lock at 10:30. Unless you have an emergency and have to dial 911, you’re locked in/out and have to wait until the following morning to leave or enter. It’s like they’re paying these people, with our own tax dollars, to “parent” us. Quite ridiculous.
My advice: spend less time policing the gate and more time ridding the spaces of pests.

Very clean. Boats on the lake were loud at times but nothing can be done about that. The staff were very friendly and the park was well kept. Bathrooms were ok. Showers only had a curtain and no door for privacy. Verizon and ATT both had excellent service. No booster needed. Little town outside of the campground has everything you need and the drives around the area are beautiful.
