Part of this campground is reservable, part is first come first serve. If you don’t have a reservation, you should get there early. Most of the days we were there, the non-reservable spots were taken by noontime. But on one Friday, a trailer got a space at 5:00 pm, that’s unusual! Nice campground, but due to location, any sound caries a long way. No cell service at campground, can drive north a few miles, and get good Verizon service, most days. A lot of campers were also boaters, since Swan Lake is just across the highway. There are two loops. It’s sad, but we saw some of the reservable sites not being used. It appeared that some of those, were then used as first come first serve. But, if the camper didn’t show up for, their reservation, the spot stayed empty, so nobody got to use it.

I’ve always enjoyed this campground. Good quality water available, pit toilets, picnic tables and fire pits. Access to the south end of Swan Lake, boat ramp, picnic area, and kayak, canoe rentals available. No cell service in campground, but I have been able to text from the beach. Paddle out a couple hundred yards into the lake and good cell service! There is also a NWA bird sanctuary just to the south of “downtown” Swan Lake, worth a visit. Road is just past the forest service cabin on the highway.

Swan lake was a great stop to relax and unwind at the lake across the street. There is a wonderful beach area, easy boat launch and calm/clean water. The camp host Cheryl was very helpful with trail maps, day passes for the lake parking area and great conversation. The amenities include vault toilets, bear boxes, water spigots and fire rings. The sites are large with shade trees and some privacy. There is no cell service to speak up, but was able to get a signal south of the campground at a closed general store. There is a another store just north with ice, gas, beer and snacks. My only complaint was the complete lack of respect from the other campers. Generators running all day while they were out and non stop corn hole bean bags hitting wood. Apparently there was some sort of family reunion/corn hole tournament going on all week. I’m all for everyone having fun, but being put to sleep and awaken every day by that obnoxious sound was irritating to say the least. Tons of kids with little to no parent supervision as well. I’d love to come back during the off season.

Enjoyed this site. We had one of the nicer private sites, lots of space with woods beside us that we could roam around in with our little boy. There is a drop off into a small green clearing behind us with more woods. Hosts were nice. Would definitely stay here again. Hubby has a Starlink satellite for internet access. No service with ATT or Verizon but can drive a 1/4 mile to get access.

This was one of our favorite spots this past Summer. It’s a small and quiet campground that is walking distance to the beautiful Swan Lake. The camp hosts were friendly and helpful. We will go there again! We stayed in site 5.
