This is a great dry camping experience on Hungry Horse Reservoir close to Glacier National Park. Also one of the few campgrounds around the lake with ATT service, only 2 bars but uncluttered and I could get 10 down/7 up without the booster. The camp hosts were new and very nice and helpful. 16 miles from town and maybe 20 some miles to the West Glacier entrance. There is no water or dump, you can dump at the Conoco in Columbia Falls.

Very quiet and heavily wooded so solar isn't much use in most sites. Lots of wildlife and wooded views of the lake. I would definitely stay here again.

This Forest Service campground is being leased by a private company. Every bathroom was out of TP each day. They bathrooms were somewhat clean. I think part of the problem is that there were several single sites that they were allowing 2 or 3 families or groups to stay in a single site. I don't know if they were considering these group sites, but they were only large enough for a single 25 or 30 foot trailer. Having said that the host should have recognised this problem and stocked more than once a day if they are going to allow large groups in single sites. It's clear the campground wasn't designed for that heavy of use. Also the host didn't make any effort to ask the large groups to keep it down. While they're parties were not wild they were loud, and the noise of several parties went on well past midnight. The host instead seemed to spend all of his time visiting a single mothers camp and hanging out with her for several hours. We also observed camps were nobody was present and food was left out. This is grizzly bear country so it could be a problem. We found deer at an adjacent camp eating food left out and unattended. when trying to chase the deer off we found there was peanut butter covered celery left in the fire pit the deer was eating and very reluctant to leave. This was also the site the host had spent most of his evening hanging out at.

We had a very small site with a wooded view of the nearby lake and just enough room for the Jeep and the tent. Trails leading down to the lake were great for swimming and they had 2 of the most well maintained vault bathrooms Ive ever seen. Verizon cell coverage had weak signal, my phone said I had coverage but I had a hard time using it.

We had an awesome 3 night stay here at the end of August. We were pretty worried about getting our 40’ class A to this campground, but it wasn’t too bad and we’d definitely do it again. Some sites are level enough for a class A, others are definitely not. We got kinda lucky with site 11 that we easily got into. Sites 10 and 12 right across from us would also have worked well. This was such a nice, quiet stay with privacy and absolute silence at night. Such a nice change from the sardine style RV park. Although I only used one of the pit toilets once, they were the cleanest and nicest smelling I’ve ever been in. The host did a great job keeping them clean as we saw her circling around several time daily. Interestingly from the dam until we got to this campground there was no cell service. We had 1-2 bars the whole time and we’re able to get emails, text messages although pictures were hard to send and websites were difficult and slow to load.

Cute little spot on the lake, able to walk from site to lake, camp host was nice. You aren’t allowed to have anything out on tables if sites unattended or at night.

Beautiful campground, small and quiet. If you have a tent, be prepared to pitch it on the parking pad, as most sites seem to have very little room for anything bigger than a backpacking tent. RVers, choose your site carefully. Some can fit a decent size RV (#19 fit our 32’ 5th wheel and long bed truck) But other sites would barely fit a car. Don’t worry about the road in, you can make it if you go slow around corners. The gravel road to the campground is potholed but passable.
