“on the caribbean of the rockies!”
Park your RV or pitch your tent, then head for nearby Bear Lake and prepare for a stunning view. This deep, 20-mile-long natural lake straddling the Utah/Idaho border is nicknamed the "Caribbean of the Rockies because of its turquoise water and white sand beaches. Fish, sail, Jet Ski and soak up the northeast Utah sun. If you're towing a boat, the marina is a mile north of KOA. Drive along Bear Lake Road, which rings the lake, or explore the many hiking, biking and four-wheeling trails. The campground also rents bicycles. KOA offers a heated pool and a wading pool for kids, as well as Ping-Pong, a Jumping Pillow and a playground. On summer weekends, hosts serve up the Hungry Bear pancake breakfast. Shop for fresh fixin's at the KOA grocery store. Pool: Memorial Weekend - Labor Day Weekend. Max pull thru: 100 feet.

only a handful of RVs here this time of year- april 27. What can I say? its a KOA. pretty large one too. I'll bet in summer this is a mob scene of families and kids. We would avoid this in high season just because we're an older couple and like solitude! ha! This place has a great variety of camping options from tents to RVs, to a good number of cabins. If coming in high season, you probably need to reserve well ahead of time, I'd guess. The manager was really nice and helpful. This place is right on the lakeshore drive, but on the side of the road away from the lake. grocery store and ACE hardware store right next to the entrance. Great location next to the hwy 89 Logan's pass scenic highway which is a great day trip for sight seeing and hiking. WIFI was pretty good but wouldn't allow for netflix streaming.

This is a large KOA with a focus on families. We arrived over Labor Day weekend and the place was full up and jumping; but by Sunday evening it was deserted and only a handful of occupied sites remained. Site was good size, level, shaded, clean and orderly. Water and electrics were good. Staff was friendly and helpful.

When we visited last September, they recently changed ownership & we got caught up in a really unfortunate camping location. The prior owners upsold us into a site so we could “be closer to the party we were traveling with.” Well, all of this did not happen & our traveling party was located on the other side of the campground. They arrived after office hours so nothing could be done about the location. One of the people we were traveling with had MS, so this was a disaster. When we went to the office to complain the following day, the clerk had no compassion & said he would not even adjust the rate we paid for the upgraded campsite “because our rates went up, & we kept you at the lower rate.” Astonishing!!!! Also, we were told that we had to recycle but the campground does not offer a separate recycling bin.
We enjoyed our quick stop. The location is great proximity to Bear Lake and touristy fun. Great place for bikes. The staff was amazing. You have to wear wristbands because the people that live in the surrounding housing come over and try to use the amenities. The laundry room was tiny and unfortunately we needed to do a couple of loads. They had two residential washing machines and only one dryer. It took forever. Playground was great. They were putting in a new bounce pad for the kids. We played pingpong and outdoor connect four. Bathrooms were clean and well maintained.
The BEST KOA we have ever stayed at! Get yourself a site with a patio! We loved it here and will definitely be coming back.
Beautiful location, super clean, staff amazing. Can’t wait to go back!
We actually loved this KOA. We had a 32” RV and it was easy to access our site. We also checked in after hours and they were very accommodating.
It was fully booked the night we stayed but we still had ample space for our family. After hours was also very quiet.
We had our two pups with us and there were several paths and space for walks. I even got a 4 mile run in the first morning.
You can take a short 15 walk to the Marina where our kids swam in the lake, paddle boarded and played on water trampoline. Dogs are also allowed to swim. There is limited parking but there is an overflow parking area close by for RV’s and cars.
On site, extra shirts and goodies (if you are stopping by before a longer trip to Yellowstone and forgot anything).
Highly recommend!
Worst KOA EVER! I thought it'd a fun one because they have lots of extras like a little mini golf area and other fun kids stuff to do... I paid a few extra bucks for the one that's near the kids area that also had happen to have a TV. Well there WAS a TV - with instructions on which way to point the rabbit ear antenna to get the 3 channels offered. BUT the antenna wasn't plugged in and you could reach far enough behind the TV to get it plugged in as it didn't pull away from the wall. There was a weird bright green light on one of the outlets that turned on and off every 5 minutes all night long that lit up the room and clicked when it turned on/off. The smoke detector was open and clearly had no batteries in it and there were spider webs EVERYWHERE! My son ran his head into webs on the top bunk. There was also no one in the office at any point that we'd stopped by (all during the hours stated) so I couldn't even mention any of this before checking out. But the worst part was waking up to my son telling me to watch my step because there were bugs on the floor - dead and alive. The entire floor had earwigs crawling all over it in an infestation. Oh my word. Seriously - it takes a lot for my to leave a bad review somewhere, but this one takes the cake!
