Bayview Campers Park

We arrived in the late afternoon to a very friendly staff person. She said the normal rate was $50 but discounted us to $30 for our small Class B van. She told us we would likely be the only one in the park as most of the RVs parked there - mostly trailers- belonged to owners who came only for the weekend. The campground was on the water and I can imagine it being a popular spot for families. We had a bit of trouble with the electrical hookup since the power connection did not have a protective cover and there was standing water on the site due to recent rains. The connection popped our surge protector and we were very glad we had a good one. We were able to connect electricity at a different site. None of the sites have sewer and there was either a dump station or a honey wagon service for that. We have Verizon cell phones and could not get service, but perhaps that was due to it being a cloudy night. There was a shower room attached to the main office building, but we did not use that.

Four months in advance and they advertise 150 spots available but only four spots are actually available due to all the others being seasonal campsites that are reserved year-round. Those 4 available are all reserved until October by rail workers. So zero spots available until winter…

Wife and I were heading through and needed a Saturday/Sunday spot. They had one available at $45 a night. Thought it was full hookups but it’s water & electric only (there is a dump on site and I think they come around on Mondays to pump out). Pool is well cared for and was very busy while we were there. But the trains. We didn’t realize we were only 70 or so yards from some very active RR tracks. Since there is a crossing to get into the campground, they blow their horn. No biggie during the day. At 2:30am, 3:30am, 4:30am…please stop. Was $45 a night for us. Verizon we had 1 bar. T-mobile home internet saved us. Again, fine CG and close to stores but I hope you like trains.
