We arrived quite late (10PM) and used there after hours check-in which was nice that they had it. Price for a 30/50 amp site was $62.15 (including tax). Sites are very narrow and not very deep. Kids playground had a dozen or so empty bottles laying around the play area. The trash can in the dog walking area was overflowing with doggie bags.
Expected more for the money.

Definitely not my favorite KOA. Noisy from the freeway and construction at night. The site was adequate with level paved pull through and full hookups. Pool and hot tub are small and unappealing. This park is convenient to Reno and all the special events during the summer but don't expect much more than a place to park with hookups.
Cabelas and the Boomtown Casino are next door which is a plus. (I would boondock at Cabelas if I was only staying one night)
Biggest problem was the power. We were in a 30 amp site and our Progressive power monitor kept shutting off our power due to low voltage at the pedestal. It was typically 103V during the day but came back up to 115V at night.
The park wifi was OK but usually pretty slow.

Down the street from Boomtown casino with a shuttle service between. Cabelas and decently stocked gas station within walking distance. Run down dog park. No fire rings. Quite a few long term parking folks in park.

We decided to stay here due to location. I discovered that after the office closes most of the amenities close down. There are only two showers available after the office closes. The laundry closes when the office does. And the last load needs to be in by 3:30pm. The staff were nice I just found some of the operations odd for an rv park. Most others have showers and laundry available 24 hours Or at least the ones we have visited

We’ve stayed here before. Since we have a dog, we like to stay near the dog walk. In my reservations, I specifically put on the comments we wanted to be near the dog walk. When I arrived, were were assigned to be on the other side of the park. So I had to pay extra for a pull through (instead of a back in one) to be 3 rows away. Come to find out, spots K33 & K34 (which the staff told me that row is now available), stayed open during our entire stay. The grass in most other spots are very minimal. So I may stay here again, but I will think twice before doing so and may go up to Gold Ranch RV park instead.
The new slot I was assigned too was paved, but so uneven that it took me over 30 minutes to level my camper out.

This campground shouldn't be tied to the KOA name. The campground is full of long-term campers and the park is trashed. Their website states it has a dog park (Kamp K9)...it is literally a fenced in section of dirt about 10 feet long and 4 feet wide. This is NOT a dog park.
The only reason I stayed, I had nowhere else to go. Do not waste your money.

Nothing really great in my opinion about this campground but I AM grateful to have a SAFE place to stop on the side of I-80 with a good cell phone Signal and with a clean bathroom. KOAs seem to all have that at a minimum so they will always get at least three stars even though the actual site is a gravel parking lot and nothing more.

Close to I80, but far enough to not hear it. Overlooks River.
Campsite itself very ordinary but clean and quiet, casino in walking distance if so inclined.
Location is a quick commute to Reno, and a head start if you are heading to Tahoe.

I suggest just staying at the hotel and letting them know that you’re parking an RV with your room reservation. This park is bare bones for the price. Nice area to stay, overall, but I don’t recommend this particular campground. Lots of dog poop, generators going here and there while I was there, even with their hook ups. Nice enough (well-intentioned) folks running the place, but they don’t offer you much for the price. Easy access. Not terribly close, but probably too close, if this is your vacation.

I like KOAs for the safety, proximity to the main roads, and cleanliness. This one hits all of these. If you like to gamble the Boomtown Casino us steps away. I just stayed the night on my way elsewhere so I felt it was fine.
