This is the first (and only, as of this time) KOA at which we’ve stayed. We spend five nights here, and thoroughly enjoyed it. Good sites, a small river running along the side of the park, this is a peaceful and quiet spot in a mountain valley, close to Cherokee National Forest. The staff is super-helpful. And there’s a one-acre dog park; great for entertaining a pup with ball-throwing (ours may eventually learn to retrieve the ball for another throw - until then, more exercise for us!).

There are antique shops in Murphy, and plenty of places to eat and things to do and see in the area; there are also some planned events / activities at the KOA - which is a bonus, since it’s a relatively small campground.

Fabulous experience! Extremely friendly people, everything is very neat and clean, absolutely beautiful area with lots of green space and a river. 1 acre dog park is phenomenal and even has a 2nd smaller fenced in area. Our dogs loved running free in such a large park. We had a great time playing corn hole and other games in the “people” park. Nicely centrally located near many great places to visit. We had something different to do every day within 30 to 60 minutes drive (e.g. scenic railway in Blue Ridge, water falls, scenic byways, river rafting, Helen Ga) and nice restaurants in town as well just a few minutes away. Highly recommend!

We only stayed here one night, but believe it would be a great place to launch explorations of the area from, especially if you’re looking for full hookups. We had decent AT&T service with 25 mb down and 5 up. The hosts were great, the park was clean and our dog loved their big dog park. The spaces were tight, but we expected that.

Very narrow road into the CG. One vehicle only. They are quite strict with the check in and out times to keep the flow on the road. Typical narrow sites. Right along a little river. Usual amenities. Camp hosts were wonderful. We had issues with our breaker box but they fixed it immediately. We would stay here again. Phone service on Verizon was spotty.
