Confirmed by 1 users | Last reported on September 21, 2022This campground is first come first served. We arrived around 10 am and found a few open spots. It usually clears out around 10:30 am. We got a great spot (#1) right by the river. Very large and open. No hookups and zero cell service. We enjoyed the trail across the road. Our dogs loved going early each morning. There wasn't a camp host the majority of the time we were there, but on the last night they arrived. They are a stickler for the rules and have very strict generator hours which we didn't like especially when we don't get a lot of solar power. Most of the campgrounds inside the national park have the same rules though.
Mosquito creek is about 25 minutes from lake Louise and about an hour from banff town.

We arrived on a Tuesday about 1pm .. we had two 35 foot class A’s with toads .. found two spots with ease .. never went in the vault toilet, but saw the Park Ranger clean them .. Ranger was there for a couple of hours each day taking care of business .. the second day we move to site 34 right on the river (with the Rangers approval) fantastic spot ..
Be sure you turn at the right sign or you end up in a big vacant lot turning around ..
No cell .. No hookups .. just a landing strip .. 50 minute back to Banff, but a beautiful drive

Mosquito Creek is a first-come, first-serve CG in the forest about 20 kms from Lake Louise. Price July 2022 was $18 CDN. There are 2 loops and a large central gravel area, with a strip of campsites along the river in the open gravel area, completely exposed, but the large RVs seem to like these. When all the sites were taken, some campers used the central gravel area as overflow. The larger loop is on the right as you enter the CG. It has many sites in the forest, limited views. These are generally well-spaced, not crammed together and the trees and vegetation provide some screening from other campers. The roads are very potholed. The loop on the left as you enter the CG is smaller, with sites that seem smaller and more uneven. The loops are a bit tight for bigger rigs or long Class C campers. Each site has fire ring (additional fee for wood), picnic table. There are vault toilets and a camp sink. Peak season the CG filled by early evening. There was no host or onsite management, but a ranger came through daily to check on things and service the CG.
Mosquito Creek trail, which goes to Molar Pass, is located on the other side of the highway. The parking for the trail is across the bridge. Make sure to turn into the correct entry because trailhead parking area might be tight to turn around and get back out if you are in a larger rig.
Finally, mosquitos were not too bad here in July!

We have a 34ft airstream and parked by the creek at site 36. This was such a great spot for our long rig. There are sites in the woods but we have Starlink and needed a clear sky. No cell service here. There is water, a sink, pit toilets, and garbage. Usually they have plenty of free firewood but it went very fast since it’s end of September. Really close to Lake Louise. Pretty far from the town of Banff (1+ hr). It was 18.25 CAD per night. Additional fee per day to have a fire permit.

This was one of our favorite places so far this trip. Eight of the sites sit next to the river. The rest are shaded. Most sites have a reasonable distance between you and your neighbor. There is trail head acrosss the road from the campground going up to the base of the rockies. Bow Lake is a gorgeous lake to kayak on. It's about 6 miles from the campground. The views from camp were amazing, The property is well maintained. Lake Louise is about 30 minutes away. The cons. Because the campground is first come first serve and close to Lake Louise there is the nightly drive by of all the people thinking they are going to find a place at 5:00pm Show up early or you willl be one of those people doing a drive by. This campground is also an overflow park, At night all of those people doing the drive by are parked in the large parking lot. The views are great from the overflow area. There is no Verizon service. There is pit toliets, water, trash the dump station is at Waterfowl campground.

We would stay here for one night. The campground is small the roads around to the different sites are small. The only reason we got our big 34 foot in was there was a restroom right across from us. The open area had a 44 foot RV and other RVs there were four sites that you could take on the outside of the open area.
We got there at 3 PM. Don’t forget going into Alberta bumps your clock ahead one hour. There were about 12 sites available then but by 5 o’clock there were none by 7 o’clock there must’ve been eight or nine vans and RVs in that huge parking area. You are allowed to stay out in that area only one night for the same price. I think if we would’ve had more time to explore the icefield highway, we might’ve stayed there a few days.
You could’ve gotten Starlink out in the open area, but all the other campsites were forested.
