“Near Linville Falls Winery”
Overview Located in a dense pine canopy, within hiking distance of Linville Gorge and along the famous Blue Ridge Parkway, Linville Falls Campground is an ideal location for your next family camping excursion.Recreation The Linville Falls area is a hiker's paradise, and the campground provides easy access to several trails that allow visitors to experience the stunning scenery and abundant wildlife. Once at the gorge, visitors can hike more challenging trails down to the river, where fishing for trout is a popular pastime. Linville Falls is another must-see, carrying water from the river over several layers of falls, ending in a spectacular 45-foot waterfall pouring into the sparkling riverbed below. Campers are also likely to spot wildlife like bears, grouse, turkeys, owls or hawks during their stay.Facilities The campground offers comfortable tent or RV camping, with the convenience of flush toilets and drinking water. Grills and picnic areas at each site create a perfect environment for family barbecues or late-night marshmallow roasting. In addition to the 40 sites available for advanced reservation, 24 campsites are available on a first come, first-serve basis. Natural Features Linville Gorge is a vast designated Wilderness area that sits on 11,786 acres of rolling hills and thick forest. The gorge surrounds the Linville River, which is located some 1,400 feet below the ridge, creating a stunning canyon that has earned the nickname, "The Grand Canyon of North Carolina." The Blue Ridge Parkway is a scenic byway with plenty of natural attractions and recreational opportunities for visitors. Aside from natural features, the parkway is also a cross-section of Appalachian mountain history. Stretching almost 500 miles along the crest of the Blue Ridge Mountains through North Carolina and Virginia, it encompasses some of the oldest historical sites of both pre-historic and early European settlements. The surrounding forest offers hemlock, white pine, oaks, hickory and birch trees, along with a colorful assortment of wildflowers in the spring and an epic array of orange and red shades of leaves in the autumn. Nearby Attractions Linville Caverns, a privately maintained cave just south of Linville Falls, offers guided tours year-round.

The owners here were great and saved us from having to get towed on a holiday weekend when passing through Linville Falls. A few miles before approaching Linville, I realized my motorhome had a stuck brake caliper that was starting to smoke and become dangerous, which was intensified by the fact that we were just about to head down NC 221, which is a steep, windy road with a long descent. After pulling over at a local store to call for a tow, I found this campground on the map, which just happened to be right down the road. Being July 5th, I didn't have high hopes, but they were able to squeeze us into a popup spot that still had 15a electric, water, and sewer for the night!
After 1 night in that spot, we moved to site 2, which had full 50amp and hookups. The campground is really cool, with tons of different options in a small family-run setting. It's just near the blue ridge parkway and is a quick drive to Linville Falls. Loved this place!

Off season, this is a delightful and quiet place. No highway or trains, so if the other campers are quiet, this place is very quiet! But, sites are close together, which could be a problem in the high season, so I marked down the quality. Sites are mostly level, nice greeting by owner who is helpful and full of info about the area. There is a playground, horseshoe pit and other attractions for kids. Laundry facilities are very clean. Nice bed of gravel so no mud. Only 1 bar of cell service, but our amplifier brought it up to 3 bars. Beautiful spot carved into the mountain, easy access to blue ridge parkway. Nearby Linville Falls are beautiful.

Stayed here in a 25' travel trailer. Right off of Hwy 221 and the BRP. Site 21 was fantastic although some of the others don't offer as much privacy. Laundry and baths are very clean. Overall well kept property and nice camp store. Lots of gravel, so no muddy areas. No dump site contrary to what's listed here but FHUs including 50A. Open area for children to play and fenced dog run. Pavilion with picnic tables which was handy for tenters to get out of the rain. Tent site loop is woody and beautiful.

We really enjoyed this campground! We had site #2, which was perfect for our teardrop camper and our van. All sites were gravel with trash cans. Our site was mostly shaded and had a few steps down to our picnic table and fire pit. It was quite. Bathhouse was really nice with separate shower rooms as well as family rooms. Has a laundry room with a sink to wash dirty dishes. The office has a small store that came in handy when we needed milk, salt and pepper. Owner was very friendly. There’s a dog park and playground. Our site had electric/water and we were able to get 4 TV stations with a cheap antenna. We noticed they also had a tent camping area, cabins and RV carports. Location was great for Linville Falls, Boone, Blowing Rock, Grandfather Mtn.

I called last minute looking for a campsite and the owner was very accommodating and helped me after hours. The campground was so cute and quaint and clean. My lighter wasn't working and I called Kenny at 930 PM and he was more than happy to open the store for me. The store was small but had EVERYTHING anyone could need for camping. The bathrooms were the cleanest I've ever seen. I would definitely stay here again
Wow! We love this place! We got lucky and called to see if they had a spot open and the woman was warm and friendly. The spit was amazing! Beautiful and spacious between spits. There were 6 private bathrooms and showers that were very clean. They have trash cans at each site and do
Pick up each day. Lots
If private and space between spaces. Lovely lovely lovely. HIGHLY recommend!
