“stunning!”
Cathedral Falls is a beautiful 60+ foot waterfall on Cane Branch. It cascades down a narrow canyon and lands right beside US Rt 60. This creek begins on Gauley Mountain and makes a short but exciting trip to the New River. It actually drops nearly 100 feet over a series of Upper Nuttall sandstone ledges, but the final 60 feet of drops are the ones you can see from the roadside park.

This place was gorgeous! Totally worth the drive off our route. It had been low rain so the water was just a trickle, but it didn’t matter this is absolutely stunning. I would love to go back and see it again after a heavy rain. Small parking area and very short walk to see the falls. You can get closer if you want to walk a bit further depending on water. We were able to walk right up to the pool at the base of the falls. The only negative was that there was a dead baby dear in the water.
awesome stop, I planned on just seeing the falls and eating quick lunch but both my daughter and my dogs enjoyed this spot for a few hours you can play in the water do plan on getting wet its more fun that way. the falls is gorgeous but also plan on it being busy. there were so many people in this small little hollar all trying to get photos of the falls. crowds aren't my thing so that was a negative for me but still totally worth stopping to see.
We had been here before in the Spring when the falls was flowing pretty good, and it was beautiful! This time, we came in the heat of Summer and there wasn't much water at all. There was a lot of people though, so much so that we couldn't park in the parking lot and had to park on the side of the road. We snapped a few pics, and left fairly quickly. When it has a good flow and not as many people it's definitely a 5 stars.
Very cool stop
