“a hidden gem!”
Roaring River State Park is unique on so many levels! With a deep, narrow valley surrounded by a striking and rugged landscape, Roaring River State Park is one of Missouri’s most popular state parks. Located in the southwest Ozark hills, Roaring River State Park is one of three state parks stocked with rainbow trout. Eager anglers flock to the park year round to try and catch their lunker trout. The scenic setting makes everything more fun. The park has seven hiking trails, a swimming pool for cooling off, picnic tables for a leisurely lunch and a nature center to learn about the park. For those wanting to spend the night, the park has many options. The campground has both basic campsites and those with water and electric hookups. Rustic cabins are scattered throughout the park or guests may choose a modern room at the Emory Melton Inn and Conference Center. The center also boasts a full-service restaurant.

Nice, clean, hiking trails, nice roads, and beautiful streams! If it was beautiful in the winter I’m sure it’s gorgeous in the summer!
Great park. I live nearby so we go a lot.
This is a fantastic state park in southern Missouri. If you enjoy trout fishing, hiking or want to explore all that Eureka Springs, Arkansas has to offer, this is a good spot to stay! They have a restaurant, lodge and store on the grounds. If you have the chance to make a reservation ahead of time, I would recommend doing so. This way you can see the layout of the campground and secure your site ahead of time.

Campground was fairly busy for early spring. Seems to be a popular fishing destination. Great trails.

This is a great place to spend a weekend especially if you enjoy fishing. We ended up with just a basic site in campground 3 on the opposite end of the restrooms but in return it was a little quieter and more space. Restrooms were clean, shower rooms were simple but clean, hot water and good pressure. If you have AT&T you won’t have any signal but the park offers free WiFi which worked pretty decent.

We really enjoyed our stay at Roaring River State Park during the last week of 2021. Campground #1 is the only one of the three campgrounds currently open during the off-season. There is a campground host and there were two heated shower/bathrooms available. The dump site was open and there were other pit toilets throughout the park. Six to eight others camped each night.
It is an easy walk of roughly one-half mile or so from Campground #1 to the spring and fish hatchery. There are also seven or more trails of varying lengths. We walked on five and would agree that the typical moderate to strenuous ratings are probably appropriate. We are in our 70s and took our time, using walking poles.
We had no AT&T service in the park. We had good service in Cassville, but lost the signal right at the park boundary. There is wi-fi in the campground and it worked relatively well during our stay.

We stayed one night here in the middle of April and the campground has maybe a third full. Our site was fairly level. There is good spacing between the sites but there is no brush to offer privacy. The campground was very quiet. The wifi in our campsite was excellent. We were unable to receive over the air TV channels here. There is a stream behind our campsite which after a night of rainfall began flowing strong and making a nice sound.

We just left the campground. We were in space 85, campground #2. The community water hookup was a little over 50ft away from our site, so be sure to scope that out and fill your tank before unhitching and leveling. We won’t make that mistake stake again (I hope). Other than a tick bite —my fault for not spraying my clothes with deet, the experience was good. Camp sites were spaced well, the river was within walking distance for us, as were toilets and showers. Verizon cell service was good all through the park and trails we walked (Deer Leap and Devils kitchen).
