Confirmed by 1 users | Last reported on October 12, 2021We just got here, so I’ll try to come back and update. However, I wanted to get this information in to prevent others from having a white knuckle experience. In an email, they (Philadelphia / West Chester KOA) send a small map and written directions, stating Do NOT FOLLOW GPS DIRECTIONS. Ok, so we followed the directions in the email. In the last 3ish miles, our roof got hit by low branches at least a half dozen times. The passenger side mirror also took quite a beating. We are not huge, at 36 feet. We are a motor home, not a big tall fifth wheel. Although big rigs may be ok in the campground, you really don’t want to drive here!
After calming down: The campground itself is big rig friendly. (although I would suggest beaming your rig there) The staff was very friendly. Dogpark is nice. Pool is very nice, and they employ lifeguards.

Overall, the campground is beautiful, has access to the river, and has a lot of nice amenities. There is even a lifeguard for the pool! They did implement some restrictions due to COVID-19 but kept as much open as possible. Site was secluded and completely shaded. It is tough to get to the campground as the roads are narrow and have lots of blind curves. Follow the campground provided directions and go slow and you will be fine.

Stayed just after Hurricane IDA so some of the roads were blocked and the mosquitos was a bit heavy. Other than those temporary issues, this is a very nice campground. Close to DE mansions, museums, and Philly. Staff was friendly and helpful. Site was mostly level. Amenities were very well kept. Store was well stocked. Roads were a bit tight getting in but a few Motor Coaches and large 5th wheels were here. WIFI was pretty good. Has very basic CATV. Can pick up right many over the air TV channels. Verizon was good. AT&T was good in some spots in the campground and not so good others. Great place to stay.

Stayed end Sept 2021 - My son lives in West Chester, PA so this was the closest campsite. We were thrilled when we got there. We had a premium, patio back in site and it was absolutely beautiful. We were on the top of the hill looking over the pool, play area, and office below. The campground was so well taken care of and the surrounding area was beautiful to walk around. Great restaurants, shopping, hiking, and more only a few miles away.
If we didn't have a premium site, the regular sites looked a bit tight. The tent sites were amazing right along the river. This seemed to be a family wonderland, but everyone was respectful and there even with tons of kids and campers no one was excessively loud.
The only issue was access to the park was quite a bit hairy with such a large 5th wheel on the very narrow windy roads heading into the campground. Also, be very careful to follow their directions. Bridges coming from the other side of the campground are shut down due to recent flooding so you'd have a very hard time turning around if you went that way.
Cell service was great.

Wouldn’t recommend site 52 but the place is great! Be weary of booking in the wooded area during late Sept thru Oct while the walnuts are falling!
