If I could rate a 4.5, I would - but only because the sites are pretty compact. We fit fine because we have a small trailer, but our friends with their 23' Airstream were TIIIIIIGHT in their spot.
That said, this is probably the nicest RV park I've ever stayed in. Granted, the easy access to the beach probably skewed my view, but it is seriously amazing. Although the spaces are tight, each space seems private due to the creative use of landscaping and trees to separate all of the sites. Each site had a fire pit, a picnic table and full hookups (water, electric and sewer). The pads were pretty level and well-maintained. I had to laugh because they rake the sites after each camper leaves and it looks like they ran a zamboni over it because it's so perfectly raked!
The grounds are extremely well-maintained and the landscaping is beautiful. It's a few miles away from downtown Tofino and within walking distance of great food and coffee (Tacofino, Wildside Grill, Chocolate Tofino and Tofitian). You can also get free drip coffee and tea in the main office - and they have a regular espresso bar for lattes, mochas, etc (they charge for those), also in the main office.
Extremely dog-friendly. Everyone on Mackenzie beach had their dogs (lots off leash) and there is a dog wash area for when you're done on the beach. It was fabulous, and super helpful to keep the sand out of the trailer!
The wifi here was AMAZING. Like, almost as good as at home. Shower facilities were large and clean, and the showers were complimentary which was nice. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Our friends had a problem with their sewer connection and it was fixed that same day.
This mid size campground attached to a resort is pretty darn nice. The sites are small, but letʻs just call them cozy, or intimate. Itʻs a short walk to the beach which seems to go on forever and if thatʻs not enough just move down the coast and find more beach! The whole area has a very mellow vibe and the resort is very clean and well taken care of. I canʻt remember the price from October 2014 but it was a bit steeper than I like but I think we totally got what we paid for. All the resort feel in an awesome location with our own portable hotel room. Tofino is an awesome little town.
