Great little canyon about 3.4 miles south out of Winnemucca. This is however a locals hangout due to how close to town it is...with that said, there is a LOT of traffic from early morning until very late at night. All sites are just off the road, so you hear all the traffic. There's only a couple sites for 30'+ RVs. We got our 35' 5th wheel into a nice pull thru next to the creek. Picnic table, flowers and tons of birds and butterflies.

A US Army Core Of Engineer (COE) campground. $20/ night or $10 with the America The Beautiful pass. Reservations only as of 2019. https://www.recreation.gov/camping/campgrounds/247867 Now known as ALPINE MEADOW CAMPGROUND/part of Martis Creek.

Nice quiet area even though it is next to the Truckee airport. Private planes and a few smaller jets. Hiking around the area and the Martis Dam along with wildlife viewing areas through-out the Martis Valley. Minutes from Truckee and Lake Tahoe with Reno a short 30 minute drive to all major shopping.

Great cell service for Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile. 2-4 bars of each with speeds the the 20mbps range downloads. All DRY campsites, with fresh water available at the entrance for filling your tank. NO DUMP STATION. Vault toilets only. Fire rings, picnic tables and BBQ Grill at each site. All paved roads into park. Blacktop site pads are fairly level.

Great park for an overnight stay or a week! Quiet, set along the East Fork of the Hood River. Very LITTLE river access unless you are in one of the few 'river-sties'. Rigs 40'+ will have a difficult time, but it is do-able. Most sites are back in (some pull thru). LOTS of trees, so very hard to use satellite (if you have one). Cell service is just okay. NO WIFI.

Two loops. Loop A now has power and water at each site for an extra $10.00 per night. With the Nevada State Parks Pass, this is all we paid. Great views! Only noise were a few planes as you are in the flight path for the Reno/Tahoe airport. Wild horses are all around at any given time. Close to Carson City to the south and Reno to the north. Good AT&T, fair Verizon and ZERO T-Mobile service.

Just south of the 6 mile marker on the east side of Ogilby Road, you'll find wide open space, pretty level and not a lot of rv's! Those that are here this winter (2020-21) are very spread out. Free water at the I-8 rest area just west of here, and a $15 dump at Chevron just east of here on I-8. Great cell coverage from Ver/ATT/TMobile. 3-4 bars with double digit downloads. Not much noise. Some road noise and a very very faint train whistle that is 2 miles south. It does tend to get very windy at times, so be prepared for that.
