We really enjoyed our stay! We could only get reservations for 3 nights but that better then none. Full hook ups including a shower across the street.
The city park employees were wicked nice, Michael help us get set up. Free disc golf, archery range, 2 playgrounds, basketball, volleyball and tennis courts. Also a couple walking trails.
We did encounter a few ants, but we just went and got traps.
Walmart, Kroger, Starbucks, laundry and a bunch of restaurants within 3 miles. We also went to the Tomball library located at the Lone Star collage campus, free computer access for 2 hours!

It’s somewhat crowed. It’s not bad though, no restrictions on generators. Dumpsters on site. It’s free! Cell signal is weak.

We enjoyed our stay here couple trails for hiking, fishing at the boat launch. Sites were level and clean. Bathrooms cleaned daily.

The RV campground is close to the main entrance of the forest, also a great spot for checking out DC and surrounding battlefields.
The park is on NPS grounds and was built in the 70s. Being on federal property limits the upgrades that needs doing. The WiFi is useless and the spots are super small and tight.
I highly recommend paying the $10 site lock for any rigs over 40ft. Get the back in spots on the F row, more privacy and shade. The staff is quite nice and the bathrooms are always clean.

The loops are small sites are wide and level. Backing in was easy due to the angle of sites. Bathroom was clean, laundry machines worked well $2. The boardwalk to beach was closed for repair. Staff was friendly. There is a bit of road noise you can hear inside your camper.
