We visited Muscatine while riding the Great River Road from MN to Venice, LA. Nice river town with a great park and marina on the Mississippi.

Guttenberg has a beautiful park along the lock and dam system on the Mississippi River. We had lunch here on the way to Dubuque, IA

The largest log cabin in the world! The inn is like stepping back in time. If you can't stay there, take a tour when you visit the geyser. Plan ahead. WAY ahead. We got lucky and called right after a cancellation, but it fills up months in advance. Also, make sure to see the lodge and the visitors center which are connected by large paths that form a semi-circle around Old Faithful. The food is ok in the dining room, but the ambiance and the live piano and fiddle music make you feel like you stepped back 100 years in time. I have a bunch of pictures and longer review on my blog including an HDR image of the grand hall when you walk in to see the entire thing.

Very popular, somewhat crowded, but pretty obvious what you are there for and it is easy to enjoy. I stayed at the old faithful in and had a wonderful time. Make sure to walk around the local paths to enjoy much of the other thermal sites at Old Faithful too. I have a video of the geyser going off at sunset July 4, 2014 on the link to my blog. Very cool, worth a trip to see and worth your time to watch now. It is raw footage so you can experience the sights and sounds as they are on site.

Tiny town with several restaurants. We ate at the Mexican restaurant. The attraction is the town itself. A few stores mostly restaurants. Food is reasonable. See the whole article at our blog:

Devils tower is a neat stop. It's a national park, so it is very accommodating for anybody that comes. But get ready for some weird as you drive up to the tower. The crazies are all over this site. It has a history of cryptozoological mythology that I wasn't really ready for. If you do go, make sure to drive the scenic route on the north side of 90. You will get a great view of the tower for about 20 miles. You can read more on my blog below:
