Kayaked out to the two little islands east of the beach and saw many seals sunbathing on one of the islands. It was a great trek and workout!
Hubby and I came here and saw the Billabong surf competition (not even realizing it was happening when we visited in November) and it was awesome! The entire North shoreline was probably my favorite area of O'ahu, but there also wasn't a place I didn't enjoy on the island.
Please make this a stop on your trip to O'ahu! This is a breathtaking valley full of botanical wonders and lush rainforest. It felt like we were stepping into another world - well, we techincally were! It was like a fantasy out of a storybook. And, they have gorgeous peacocks roaming the land.
Snorkeled in Sharks Cove and had a blast! Though there were some shallow spots, it was a beautiful and unreal experience, nonetheless. You are surrounded by all kinds of fish and schools will shoot right past you, not a care in the world.
My husband and I stayed in Honolulu for a week and we drove up to North shore twice just to eat at the Grass Skirt Grill. My favoritre plate was the ahi tuna steak, it was amazing and like nothing I've ever had anywhere else. I would eat here daily if I could. We miss it very much.
I would come to this amazing place all of the time if I could. San Simeon is beautiful alone, but the Hearst Castle is a must-see! I was in awe of the architecture and it's history - the grounds were something out of a movie or painting. I also loved the wildlife surrounding the grounds, especially the zebras! Please make this a stop on your coastal CA trip, even if you can only get in one tour, it will be worth it. I would love to spend a night here, especially around the holidays!
