Via Ferrata

Experience the pure adventure, exhilaration and sense of achievement as you climb the Via Ferrata in one of New Zealand's most dramatic scenic settings. You'll climb cliffs carved out by enormous, 1000m deep glaciers that extended out from the Southern Alps - with climbers peaking out on the Queenstown Hill massif, overlooking the town and Lake Wakatipu.

Via Ferrata means "iron road" in Italian and is a series of iron steps, fixed into the rock face and supported by a safety cable. This system allows anyone with moderate fitness to scale heights that are normally only accessible to experienced rock climbers.

Each route is engineered to provide a range of difficulty and challenge while ensuring maximum safety as you uncover the most awe-inspiring views over Queenstown and the mighty Lake Wakatipu. With 12 routes, covering over 300 vertical metres of varying degrees of difficulty, there is a perfect route to scale and conquer no matter what your ability level. At the end of your climb, we have an optional zip line which takes you through pine forest and onto Queenstown hill.
