“Leading from the small town of Ahipara to just short of Cape Reinga”
The aptly named Ninety Mile Beach is a must do. Leading from the small town of Ahipara to just short of Cape Reinga, this beach is 55 miles long. The expansive beach is actually a highway but it is highly recommended that only those with 4 wheel drive cars should drive on it. Alternatively, there are a number of tour companies that run from Ahipara or Kaitaia. Don't forget to look out for the 'Hole in the Rock' along the way (not to be confused with the 'Hole in the Rock' at the Bay of Islands!)
