Take State Highway 2 - the most interesting way to Wellington. You’ll go through Wairarapa where you’ll see: - Tui Brewery, legendary home of New Zealand’s famous beer – have lunch, brewery tour and tasting. - Pukaha Mount Bruce Wildlife Centre - see the world’s only white kiwi! - Martinborough Wine Village famous for Pinot Noir. - Greytown – boutique shopping plus check out Schoc Chocolates. Stay here – with lots of powered campervan sites and only an hour train ride or drive to Wellington. We’re known for premium wine, gourmet food and boutique accommodation. Pukaha Mount Bruce Wildlife Centre is home to rare and native wildlife. Get up close in beautiful bush and see the white kiwi! Martinborough is packed with colonial charm. Family owned vineyards are within walking or cycling distance of the village which is laid out in a Union Jack pattern. Some of the best Pinot Noir comes from these vineyards. Greytown features boutique specialty stores, cafes and restaurants in beautifully restored Victorian buildings. Masterton and Martinborough have i-SITE Visitor Information Centres for free, helpful advice. They can book campervan sites for you.
