The worlds of film-making and museum story-telling come together to take visitors on an immersive journey back to Gallipoli.

Discover the stories of eight New Zealanders who served at Gallipoli, as told through larger-than-life models. Follow the battlefield action on 3-D maps and projections. View photos taken by soldiers on the front line. See the weapons used in combat.

Crawl into a dugout and hear the letters an officer wrote to his wife, just days before he was killed. Discover the cramped, filthy conditions that the soldiers faced. See inside a scale-model of the Maheno hospital ship. And hear from veterans many years after they served.

Developed by Te Papa with creative direction from Sir Richard Taylor and Weta Workshop, Gallipoli: The scale of our war, is a highly emotive and personal portrayal of the horrors that were experienced during the ill-fated Gallipoli campaign.

Entry into Gallipoli: The scale of our war is free-of-charge. The exhibition is open until 2019.
