Boutique accommodation offering luxury without being lavish, opening late summer 2014. Our accommodation is unique for the area and offers many extra features for the discerning traveller. We understand that when you are visiting the World Heritage Tongariro National Park, you will be tired at the end of the day and want to relax and reflect on the great day it has been. Close enough to the mountain to give you undisturbed mountain views, but convenient enough to local stores to get yourself that well earned bottle of wine or access to a range of restaurants for your dining pleasure. Tongariro Suites is unique to Tongariro National Park. Not a motel, B&B or lavish lodge, you are simply enjoying the luxury surroundings of a private home, named The Rocks. With only four suites, we want you to feel discerning and special. We have no neon signs , we have no vacancy sign, we don't even share our address on this website. But don't worry you will now where to find us as we are discreetly postioned just of the main road and driving instructions will be provided upon confirmation of your reservation as we only do pre-booked accommodation. All suites are supersized so you can make yourself at home, even on a rainy day or when the mountain is closed for skiing or doing the Tongariro Crossing . Your hosts will respect your privacy but will provide you with the best possible service your deserve. The rooms' decor is contemporary country chic with different colour themes for each suite type. Enjoy amazing views (subject to weather conditions ofcourse) from each room that will either inspire you to conquer those mountains or just appreciate them from afar or from your bath (available in two of our suites). Located along the National Cycle Path's Old Coach Road section meaning getting here by bike is easy, located just of State High Way 4 getting here by vehcile is convenient and a great place to call in for the night. Turning left onto the mainroad you are just an easy 25 minute drive to the Whakakapapa Skifields, start of the Tongariro Crossing and other great walks in Tongariro National Park. Turning right you are only a 15 minute drive to the base of the Mountain Road that leads to the Turoa Skifields and more great walks and just 10 minutes from shops and restaurants. ***To maintain our luxury standard of accommodation we do not cater for small children as our rooms only have one King Bed and maximum occupancy for each room is limited to two people.***
