Underwater Observatory: The vessel is permanently moored at Lochmara Lodge and we will be running guided tours down below the vessel. You will be well informed and entertained by our passionate wildlife guides. Guided tours are approx 30-40 mins. $15 per adult. $10 per school age child. Book at Lochmara. Includes stingray feeding.

Departing up to four times a day from Picton, our day trips combine a Marlborough Sounds cruise with the unique blend of art, nature and kiwi holiday experiences at the Wildlife Recovery and Arts Centre. We have accommodation in 14 units and chalets perfect for family holidays, outdoor adventurers, and romantic escapes.

At Lochmara there are conservation projects, nature walks, a Kakariki feeding encounter, native birds and wildlife, art galleries and a sculpture trail. Kayaks, hammocks, a beach, rope swings, a flying fox (80 metre zip line), an outstanding waterfront café/restaurant with the best local food and wine, and the decadent Bath House day spa mean there is something for everyone. The 3 hour return walk to the panoramic Lochmara Lookout on the Queen Charlotte Track is a great option, with the 360 degree views of the Sounds definitely making the climb worthwhile.
