In amongst the varied and vibrant sea life found off Kaikoura is the spectacular dusky dolphin, found in pods of up to several hundred strong and one of the most delightfully exuberant characters of the Southern Ocean.

Dolphin Encounter operates tours by boat up to three times per day for swimming with or watching these magnificent dolphins.

Dolphin Encounter provides the opportunity for you to go swim and watch wild dusky dolphins in their natural environment off the coast of Kaikoura, New Zealand. Tours have two options, watching or swimming, with both options occurring on the same boats. Whether you choose to view from the boat or join the dolphins in the ocean, you will have a unique experience that will stay with you for a lifetime!
