“A great way to explore the Southern Alps”
Southern Alps Guiding is located in the Aoraki Mt Cook National Park. We offer Tasman Glacier Heli Skiing, Glacier Skiing, Glacier Kayaking, Heli Hiking and Heli Climbing. The Southern Alps are a range of remarkable mountains which together form the backbone of the South Island of New Zealand. The centrepiece, surrounded by spectacular glaciers, Aoraki Mount Cook – New Zealand’s highest peak. Southern Alps Guiding Ltd works with the Department of Conservation (DOC) to ensure that our impact on New Zealand’s National Parks and reserve is minimal. We are an approved concession holder, ensuring that your visit with us to the conservation lands adheres to best practice and contributes to the management of these protected areas. All our tours depart from the famous Old Mountaineers Café Bar and Restaurant in the Aoraki Mt Cook National Park next door to the DOC Visitor Information Centre where you can also get great food and drinks. There are some fantastic adventures to experience here - Charlie and Mary Hobbs and the team look forward to sharing some great adventures with you when you visit Aoraki Mt Cook.
