From Taupo: From north end of Tongariro St, cross Waikato River Bridge, take 1st left onto Norman Smith St, then left onto Acacia Bay Rd at T- intersection. Continue south for 3.8kms, turn right onto Mapara Rd, continue 6.3kms to signposted Reserve entrance on left. Continue down dirt road to lakeside. Lake water. Walks, trout fishing, start of W2K walk/bike track. No fee. Restrictions: Dirt access road. NO fires permitted.
