At 1.87 km long beach, Onetangi Beach is Waiheke's largest sandy beach. For over 100 years the beach has hosted the Onetangi Beach Races, turning the beach into a horse racing course. Annual sandcastle building competitions, The Big Dig (a mass treasure hunt), and many other fun activities utilize this beautiful land along with the average swimmer. The western end is clothing optional, making it perfect for balancing out tan lines. The beach has ample parking and is public transit accessible.
