“Great coffee anytime!”
Quay Street Cafe is a modern, bustling establishment catering to a diverse downtown clientele of commuters, CBD-dwellers, corporate types and city visitors. The beautiful long, light room runs the depth of the immaculately restored 1940s Maritime Building, with big windows on three sides opening out onto Quay, Gore and Tyler Streets. Quay Street Cafe opens early for the commuter and business crowd and stays open well into the afternoon. It’s a prime corner spot from which to observe the hum of its namesake thoroughfare and the Britomart precinct, and the spacious outdoor terrace catches all-day sun. The breakfast and bistro lunch menus are small and change regularly, created around simple, seasonal ingredients with an emphasis on freshness and flavour. There’s an extensive range of freshly baked counter goods, as well as deli sandwiches and salads. Drinks include freshly squeezed juices, smoothies and, of course, superb coffee. It’s even licensed for a relaxed lunchtime or afternoon glass of wine, with a short, well-priced list of local and international wines. As well as providing out-catering, Quay Street Cafe is also available to hire in the evenings as a function venue, with an extensive food and beverage offering tailored to suit you.
