“Home to the Father of the Americas”
The museum is also known as "Casa de Juárez" because it gave shelter to the Father of the Americas, Don Benito Juarez Garcia, when he arrived in 1818 Guelatao. This museum is housed in a building known as "Casa de Juárez" even though the house was actually owned by Don Antonio de Salanueva, who was his protector. This house was built in the eighteenth century. It was restored and converted into small historical museum in the service on 28 December 1974.
