Confirmed by 2 users | Last reported on November 10, 2022We arrived and thought we’d check it out in spite of the last few reviews. There was a child (maybe 10-12 yrs) left in charge. He quoted us $600mx for a waterfront campsite with a palapa (2 adults and 2 kids) or $500mx to visit the springs. We asked to see the campsite to be sure we could comfortably get our rig in. He refused and said we had to pay before we even walked to the site. After some discussion (and learning that there was no adult we could speak to) we decided to leave. Likely, this was a child’s literal interpretation of “nobody comes in without paying” but we weren’t comfortable paying before even knowing if we’d fit and were not going to pay $30us for a visit to the hot springs.
We ended up going to Octavio’s down the road. It was still a bit expensive, $500mx, but straight forward. We mostly saw local fishing boats and their crews camped here. We enjoyed seeing the whale skeletons on the hill and it is, generally, a very cool spot. However, I picked up 30+ rusty nails plus lots of other rusty metal trash, broken glass and plastic from just our campsite. We are sincerely hoping we don’t end up with a flat tire.

If you roll five deep, expect to pay more than the typical $20 per night here. That's with the then current 16 pesos to the dollar conversion. An extra kid or two? That'll cost you something like $1.50 extra per niño.
If you're desperate for downsides, the toilets require you to bring your own paper. The men's has two poopers, the women's as well but only one of them has a seat. Were I the owners, I'd just switch the signs, given the similar anatomy of men and women in both the U.S. and dear old Mexico.
I can't recall what the scientific name for a fear of sea shells is, but if you have it, avoid this place at all cuesta.
Otherwise, it's all ocean front hot springs just down the road where at "mid-tide" you'll get the burning hot springs mixing with the incoming Gulf of California to make a sort of perfect liquid easiness not found elsewhere in my self-proclaimed extensive travels.
Fires are allowed, and they sell a bundle of sticks for 80 pesos or so. Enough to make a short-lived, small campfire. An osprey lives just up the road, as do a few Americans who purchased what I assume would be cheap housing here.
There is no cell service. No WiFi. But there is beauty.
Keep heading south from here to Gonzaga Bay if you wish to increase the serenity and beauty. But the pavement ends soon after that, so make decisions like people give away kittens.
And as we say in English, in Mexico, enjoy!

This place may have been something to see back in the day, but it is currently just an overpriced dump.
There are too many places that are so much better.

Sites are quite small — not really “big rig friendly” but enough room for our 33’ fiver. Phenomenal beach, great swimming and the Baja’s only hot springs (camping fee includes unlimited access). 20 amp power between 4:00 & 10:00PM. Unfortunately they had quite a bit of damage from the hurricane (spring 2022) but recovery/rebuilding is underway.
We will definitely be back!

Stayed here one night and enjoyed the hot springs, was very windy at night and the power went out. 500 pesos for hot springs access or 600 pesos if staying overnight. Gas station is closed and no services available
