“the oldest operational lighthouse in the world”
For almost 800 years the lighthouse at Hook Head has shone a beacon for sailors off Ireland’s South-East coast, making it one of the oldest working lighthouses in the world and the oldest in Ireland. Very beautiful coastal area surrounding the lighthouse. Guided tours are available to the top of the lighthouse and food and drink are served in the cafe/heritage centre/shop.
