Location This luxury hotel is in the ornate town of Ubud in Bali, surrounded by lush tropical gardens, with a view over the River Oos Campuhan. The travel time from the hotel to the town of Denspasar and Ngurah Airport is approximately 45 minutes. Here guests can enjoy close proximity to a range of sights, including the Ubud monkey forest, Tanah Lot, the Lukisan Museum of Balinese Art, the former royal palace and the traditional farmers' market. The beach at Sanur is just 20 km away. Facilities This elegant hotel offers its guests a combination of Balinese architecture and hospitality. The building was once a guesthouse for the Balinese royal family. Founded in 1928 during the heyday of round-the-world tours the hotel is set in an area which inspired holy man Resi Markandya to build the nearby Besakih Temple, considered by the Balinese to be the centre for worship and ceremony. Guests may witness the living devotion of the Balinese to the gods, symbolised through daily offerings of rice, fruits, flowers and incense in the local Tjampuhan Temple. The hotel comprises a total of 63 cottages, an entrance hall, 24-hour reception, a hotel safe, a currency exchange facility, TV room and laundry and room services. In addition there is also a café, a bar, a restaurant and a playground. Parking, including a garage, is also available to guests arriving by car (charges apply). Rooms The cottages each come with an en suite bath/ shower, a hairdryer, individually regulated air conditioning and a king-size bed. A hire safe, a direct dial telephone and a balcony or terrace also come as standard. The cottages also have a view over the picturesque region of Ubud. Sports/Entertainment In the hotel grounds there are 2 swimming pools with a children's pool as well as a poolside snack bar and both sun loungers and parasols laid out ready for use.
