“great for just relaxing”
Mawgan Porth's Sunday Times award winning beach has acres of golden sands - great for just relaxing, playing family games, making sand castles or maybe just flying a kite. Rock pools abound and there are caves to explore. The fantastic Atlantic breakers make for magnificent surfing, be it on Malibu or body boards, so there's lots of fun for everyone, all under the watchful eye of the RNLI lifeguards who operate on the beach every day between April and September. During, or after your days on the beach, you'll never want for a choice of food here at Mawgan Porth whether you want freshly made sandwiches or baguettes from the delicatessen at Cornish Fresh, pasties and hot drinks from Betty's or local farm produce and delicious food in the cafe at Bre Pen Farm. There's a variety of fare too from the Coasta Cafe, pub lunches or sandwiches and evening meals from The Merrymoor, evening dinners from Fire Bistro, The Blue Bay or Jon's Bistro restaurants, or takeaways at The Blue Fish Bar fish and chip shop. A great choice of fine foods are available at Mawgan Porth's two hotels, namely the family orientated Bedruthan Steps or the adult only Scarlett. Food for thought, eh?
Way back in 1997 a shipping container carrying 4.8 million Lego pieces fell into the sea, roughly 20 miles from Land’s End. 17 years later the tide is still washing loads of Lego onto beaches around Cornwall. Lego have been spotted at this beach in particular.
