“An estate for everyone”
I know you're too old to believe in fairies, but these amazing statues created by a UK-based sculptor might just change your mind. Each of the awesome fantasy statues are created by artist Robin Wight, and are made using stainless steel wire to create the look as if the mythical creatures were fighting against a strong wind. Robin was inspired to build the creations after taking a strange photograph in his backyard that he believes shows what looks a heck of a lot like a real fairy. "A couple of years ago, while trying out my new camera, I took the picture in the woods at the bottom of my garden. It was only later when looking at the results that I spotted the figure in the tree. Its obviously a trick of the light coming through the trees. What else could it be?" - fantasywire The creation of the statues begins with a steel skeleton, and as the sculpture begins taking shape, the steel wires become thinner and thinner until Wight has created the perfect form. Each fairy statue also has a gem stone hidden inside the coiling wire where its heart should be. Each of the gem hearts have secret messages engraved onto them, but are unreadable unless you were to destroy the entire statue. Many of Wight's amazing creations are on display at the The Trentham Estate where guests are invited to visit and explore the beautiful house, gardens, and fantastical creations while letting their imagination get carried away... even if they are just made out of wire. -Roadtrippers ATTN: Trentham Estates hours vary during the summer and fall seasons.
