“A scenic rope bridge connection”
A short coastal footpath leads to Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge. On the way, there are wonderful vantage points to stop and take in the natural beauty. The geology, flora and fauna have won Carrick-a-Rede recognition as an area of special scientific interest. Fulmars, kittywakes, guillemots and razorbills breed on the islands close to the rope bridge. This former limestone quarry in Ballintoy, County Antrim is used to represent parts of the Stormlands in HBO's Game of Thrones and was the location for the scene in season two where Brienne of Tarth beats Ser Loras to win her place in Renly's Kingsguard.
Another great site in northern Ireland the bridge is a bit of a walk to get to and honestly a bit scarier than it looks. It's very sturdy but when your on it your subject to the winds and can be a bit nerve wracking, tons of fun, but nerve wracking. If you get a chance follow the trails down to the rocky beach for an awesome perspective.
