Bayeux has a British World War II cemetery as well as the Memorial Museum of the Battle of Normandy. There is also an auditorium that shows the film "Normandy 44, a Decisive Victory in the West," based on archival documents. Created by a World War II historian, the film explains the major operations involved in the Battle of Normandy. The museum's main aim is to share the history with the public and to serve as a place of remembrance, while honoring the memory of fallen civilians and soldiers.
