“institution of scientific, educational and recreational nature”

We are an institution of scientific, educational and recreational nature, we are in a protected area for contemplation and study of nature and recreation and enjoyment of the people who want to escape the everyday citadina. The Botanical Garden is a decentralized institution under the Ministry of Environment. It is located at an elevation ranging between 70-80 square meters. The climate is tropical, humid, with an average annual rainfall of 1366 mm, a relative humidity of 83.7 and an average temperature of 25.8 C. The soil is of limestone origin, shallow and low fertility. The terrain is slightly flattened and with numerous undulations. The garden's mission is to promote knowledge of plant resources in Dominican society, thereby increasing the level of awareness and rationalization in the sustainable management of Dominican flora.

The gardens are full of aquatic plants, orchids, bromeliads, ferns, endemic plants, palm trees, a Japanese garden and so much more. A true tropical paradise if you can stand the heat to be away from a beach for a few hours.
