“Sleep high in the trees..”
This incredible camping destination offers ziplining, archery, and obstacle courses, but the best part about it is the opportunity to camp high on top of cliffs and trees in one of their elevated tents, or portal edges. There are a few different types of camping at Waldseilgarten: VERSION 1: Sleeping in a Tree On a Wooden Platform "We shall bivouac on a platform in the grounds of the High Ropes Course at a height of 7 meters above the ground. There are two types of platform. The first is secured between four trees providing an almost movement free platform. The second is hung between two trees which gives you more of a feeling of being suspended in the air. It is possible at any time to descend to the ground. We start at 5pm Saturday and finish by 10am Sunday. Before this however you have the opportunity to climb through the Ropes Course which takes 2 to 3 hours. You will start this by 2pm at the latest. It is open at 10am and this is inclusive. Also included are food, sleeping bag, mattress, all the necessary equipment i.e. Stove, ropes climbing harness, helmet and all necessary instruction. Toilets and wash basins are in the grounds just a few minutes away. And if you want a morning shower then we recommend the nearby waterfall! This activity is also possible if it’s raining however we may change the dates if weather conditions are unfavorable, e.g. thunderstorms. Price per Person 125,00 €." VERSION TWO: Sleeping in the Trees "You will spend the night on a port-a-ledge which we will hang from a thick branch high up in a free standing tree overlooking the local mountains. This is a more impressive version to the wooden platforms, and what with all that air beneath your ‘bed’ you may need a head for heights. Ascent and descent is possible only with the help of a rope. As with the first version you can climb through the Ropes Course before hand between 10am and 2pm then we'll drive to the location at around 2pm which will take 20 - 45 minutes depending on where it takes place, with essentials in your rucksack (sleeping bag, cooking equipment, food etc) and stay there until Sunday morning 10am. No previous climbing experience or knowledge is necessary as instruction will be given; however, you will play an active part in setting up and dismantling the port-a-ledge. (It’s all part of the fun!) Bear in mind that there will be no sanitary facilities. By extreme weather we would seek to change the date. Price per Person 250,00 €." - Waldseilgarten VERSION 3: The Big Wall "For those thrill seekers who want something a little spicier we’ve got just the thing for you. We’ll spend the night on a port-a-ledge suspended high up on a cliff just like those ‘big wall’ climbers in Yosemite. As these huge cliff faces are often too big to climb in one day these guys bivouac half way up. They can be as high as 2000 meters. In our area there are cliff faces between 100 and 300 meters high, which is high enough to give you a taste of what this kind of bivouac involves! Naturally however, you will take only the essentials, sleeping bag, food and rope in your rucksack. Bear in mind that there are no toilets on cliff faces! This activity can only take place under stable weather conditions and the dates could be changed if bad weather is expected. Price per Person 890,00 € We guarantee that in all the above activities apart from the High Ropes Course itself you will be under the care of a qualified mountain guide or Ropes Course trainer and that your safety is at all times paramount. We also guarantee you an unforgettable experience. this is not for those with a fear for heights, but is for you if you want to experience something entirely different. Full instruction will be given as well as a rehearsal and we expect you to take an active part in the setting up and breaking down of the bivouac. The time taken to drive to our big wall depends on location which can vary." Everything you need, including meals, is included, and prices are fairly reasonable to an adventure getaway - just $150 - $1000 a night.
