No frills, nice views, and a convenient location. The lake nearby is nice but not visible from most sites. Sites 1-4 seems to be the nicest, with 4 getting our vote for best site. Some of the other sites are awkward and just a pull out on the main loop. Site 5 looked particularly bad. Free firewood and a pit toilet.
Sites are on two levels – lake level has a handful of sites with waterviews. Upper level has more sites, including a cul-de-sac of sorts with 3 or 4 sites together.
Water access by foot only down a pathway. There is a picnic table at the water’s edge and you could launch a canoe or kayak here to paddle around the small lake. Sites 2,3,4 also have their own trails leading to the water’s edge.
Typical stuff in all the Yukon government campgrounds: pit toilets, garbage and a covered shelter. Free firewood. No water supply.
Pretty area – trees and the lake. Not enough separation for privacy at most sites. Far enough from the road that road noise was minimal at the lake level sites but construction noise was quite noticeable in the morning as there was a major road construction project just past the entrance when I was there.
No cell signal on Bell Canada or likely any other carrier. Free WIFI available at the Beaver Creek Visitor Centre 26 km north on the Alaska Highway and there is a dumps station available for $5 at the Beaver Creek RV Park.
We stopped here for 1 night after the horrendous drive up the Al-Can. We picked site 2 from the few that were left because a lot of firewood was left at the site and we felt like having a fire. This is not a level site at all. Sites are dirt/gravel. No signal in this part of the drive. The park is clean, quiet and on the lake. We would stay here again but pick a more level site. I did not check out the pit toilets so don't know about them. Free firewood in the bin.
