Confirmed by 1 users | Last reported on August 13, 2023Open forest sites, almost half with a view of Windy Arm of Tagish Lake, but none with direct access. Short trail leads from campground down to the lake.
Cell signal was very strong in Carcross on Bell and may also reach to the campground only 15 mins south.
Water available in large barrel with boil water advisory. Garbage and recycling. Forest fire at time of photos across the lake. Hope the campground is still there. Good luck!

We stayed here towards the end of August while exploring the area and making a day trip to Skagway. The road in was fairly good with a steep downhill section at the end and some washboard areas at the start. There was a small camping area on the left (with its own pay station)before you reached the main campground. The playground looked amazing and from what we could hear - was a lot of fun. There is also a small beach - we met some people who said that it is warm enough to swim in July. Like all Yukon campgrounds this one had free unsplit firewood.
Our site had amazing unobstructed views as it sat higher than most of the other sites - on the downside it was a little windy. There was a trail from our site that led to the lakeshore and the Conrad Historical Townsite was adjacent to the campground. Carcross was about a 5 min drive away with a good museum, lots of touristy shops and a laundromat (which was closed while we were there), a short drive further was the Carcross Desert. Some good hiking trails and mountain biking were very close by.
The drive to Skagway (1.5 hrs)was gorgeous and the area around Summit Lake was surreal.

Lovely up to date park on beautiful lake. If staying longer, would have explored more by foot and bike.

Skip the fees. If you’re heading towards Skagway, there’s a huge boondocking area on the left just past Conrad Campground that is totally free. It is still connected directly to the historical site. Big rig friendly. Spots are large and distanced and have fire pits. Perfect for Starlink. Direct access to water for kayaking.
