Robert Service Campground

Right in Whitehorse, this campground has walk-in campsites for tenters. They have a large gravel parking area surrounded by trees next to the highway where they will allow smaller RVs to stay. Some highway noise for sure there - likely less so for some of the tenting sites.

Clean showers open to anyone even day visitors for $1 for 3 minutes - good hot water when I was there!

Proprietor was very friendly and welcoming. Tenting sites are pretty in the forest and adjacent to the Millenium trail, a 5 km loop trail around the Yukon River with 2 bridges. Easy walking or cycling distance to Whitehorse along the trail.

After a long drive from Hyder, Alaska we decided to stop here for a warm shower and rest for a couple of days.
The place is close to the road but surprisingly quite.
I am traveling with 3 kids. They enjoyed playing in the park.

Very clean bathroom with multiple stalls and sinks. Showers available, though I didn’t use. Great location along the river and sites are amongst the better tent sites I’ve seen. Each tent pad is elevated for proper water drainage and soft enough to use tent spikes. A little noise from the nearby road and occasional planes, but great experience and would visit again.
