“L'Aventure Acadienne”
Founded in 1886, the Musée Acadien de l’Université de Moncton features more than 42,000 objects and photographs. Discover one of the largest collections of Acadian artifacts in the world. The museum’s permanent exhibition, entitled "L'Aventure Acadienne" [Acadian Adventure], is a dynamic and innovative presentation of the history of Acadia in Atlantic Canada and of its material culture. It offers a fresh look at Acadian history. It is divided into two major parts: a chronological section beginning in 1604, and a theme-based section dealing with domestic life, religion, education, politics, the character of Évangéline, folklore, culture and arts, and the world of business. Today’s accomplishments are built on yesterday’s realities and show that the Acadian adventure is far from over. The museum is located in the Clément-Cormier building on the Université de Moncton campus and is open year-round. It features a permanent exhibition and temporary exhibits, as well as guided tours and screenings of historical films and documentaries at this attraction.
