Chutes PP is just 2 minutes off the Trans Canada Hwy., from nearby Massey where basic supplies can be purchased.
The Park has a beautiful hiking trail that shows off the numerous falls or "Chutes". The trail is very walkable in a couple of hours and is just spectacular! There was an island beach that was closed due to the water level, but it was not a feature of this park. Chutes is all about the hike up and around the river. This was just another pristine Northern Ontario Provincial Park!
Park roads and site access were just OK for a 35' 5th wheel, however this is common with most Provincial Parks. The park/site maps do not show which way sites angle so it is really important to scout out ahead of time to find the best route if possible! We had to take another loop and come in the loop the wrong way to be able to back our trailer in. The site was quite large, but the pine trees lining the road were tight so it was not an easy fit in, or out. Once we got to our site #84 it was spacious, clean and fairly level.
As with most PP's the facilities were very clean and the staff were helpful and friendly. Vey little outside noise, so if you are looking for some peace and quiet, this is the park for you!
No WiFi and 2 bars of Bell cell service.

The Chutes are named for the logging chutes that used to be constructed here to get timber down the obstacles.. those obstacles being amazing waterfalls.
The original loop of the park is this one - Log Drive Lane, and it's the more spacious of the loops in the campground. The sites are more spread out and tend to offer more privacy. Happy we booked here! Site 73 was amazing.
The hikes in the park are the main feature - and totally worth doing. The twin bridges are fabulous, and there are several overlook perches. The main waterfall is very close in and easy to get to from the campground. There's also a great little swimming beach, the water is 'refreshing'.
Close to town for dining and provisioning, and were able to bike back roads too. All and all, a great stay!
Cell signal here was adequate to keep online on our US data plan roaming.
