Nice site. Quiet. Level. Grassy. Small clean laundromat. Owners helpful and pleasant. Easy to access. Very little traffic noise at night. Good telus cell coverage. At this time no wifi. Owners say that will change.

Campground was very noisy with cussing etc till 12:30am…..When booking, I was unaware of Good sam discount. Nothing on website, but on door on arrival. Young lady checking me in said we were already charged and no discount could be offered. Be sure to ask for the Good Sam discount when you book!. We had a nearly level dry site for $55….as previous poster said, it was a little steep for dry camping. did not use any amenities.

Price paid is Canadian dollars.
This campground is a former KOA. It is conveniently located off Highway 17. Check in was smooth and quick. The sites themselves are spaced apart a decent amount, are gravel and grass and have 30 amp electric and water. There is a dump station near the campground office. There is no over-the-air TV. There is cell service. WiFi was decent, not the speediest, but not the slowest. There is an unheated in-ground pool. Laundry worked well, $2 to wash and $1.25 to dry.
This is a good spot for a one night stop over. We were able to dump our tanks, get water, check email, do laundry, and head out early the next day. we would stay again if in the area.
By the way, I'm told the owner makes wonderful pizzas and will deliver them to your campsite. We had already eaten, so we didn't try it. Otherwise we probably would have!

Serpent River is a nice little campground right off Highway 17/Trans-Canada Highway. The location is very convenient. You get a little road noise from 17, but traffic along there isn’t heavy, and it wasn’t bothersome. Sites are roomy and plenty long enough; we did not have to unhook our fiver from the tow vehicle. Sites have 30amp and water, no sewer, but there’s a dump station on the way out. Check-in was thorough and efficient. The owners are clearly knowledgeable about RVs, providing good directions appropriate to my vehicle size. They sell pizza and deliver to the sites, which was very convenient. There’s a pool, but we didn’t use it.
We took a walk around the campground and found Serpent River behind it. Very nice spot. Breakfast across the road at Annette’s Diner: simple, home-cooked, good food. Overall, very happy with the experience.
We roamed in Canada on Verizon and had solid cell service here.

We stayed here at the end of September on a travel day. Our site was a pull thru with electricity. We were close to the office so had access to Wi-Fi. Park was very clean (noticeably an old KOA)and check in was easy. The road noise was noticeable at night.

Telus cell coverage was 3 bars, great signal, no booster needed. This should be the same cell service for Bell Mobility. Gerry and Debbie are wonderful hosts, very clean operation. Site is very close to the highway, though noise was never an issue.

The park was easy to find. It is located right beside highway 17 just east of the little town of Spragge. There is pavement all the way until you arrive at the park. The interior roads are gravel and big rig friendly. Signage is adequate. Check in was efficient and friendly. The rules are fairly basic.
Our site, B1, was a pull through that was just long enough for our Coach and Towed. Services (30 amp, and water only) were to the left side. Distancing is fair for a rural park. Most sites had a vegetation privacy barrier. Each site has a table and a fire pit. Our site was flat and even. Overall the park was well manicured. Transient campers are parked close to the front thus some highway noise is present. Seasonal guests, and there are a lot, are farther back towards the river.
There is NO park included wifi or cable TV. We did not find any OTA TV. Satellite might be difficult because of the trees if you don’t have a portable dish. We did not use the washrooms or showers but we checked and found them clean. There is a playground for children and it appears there are Canoe Rentals available by the river.
There are no restaurants or stores (other than the very small one at the campground office) within easy walking distance but 18 Km away it the town of Elliot Lake or 26 Km to Blind River where you can find food, shopping and convenience stores. We found this park to be very over priced because of the very limited services available as an overnighter. We paid $62.14 (inc tax) per night and we feel we received poor value. This is a $40.00 park. Having said that, the competition are charging similar prices. It is obvious to us that their business plan is to cater to their seasonal guests and we transients are a bother, thus, charge the heck out of us so we stay away. We will not be back.

The good: nice flat tent locations down by river.
The bad:
* mosquitoes, pretty bad
* only toilets by tent area… main bathroom is far
* bathrooms clean but dated, hot water effectively not there
* just one functional shower on women’s side
* pool looks fine but “closed until further notice”
* office/store open very limited hours
* overpriced
Overall, place seems in decline
