Ratings Summary
The Gateway Visitor Center is building campsites with water, electric and septic. Although not complete, RV parking is welcome behind and east of the building. There’s potable water on the east side of the building and a dump station (no potable water) in town. There’s a dumpster for trash. The sites are gravel and mostly level. Those behind the building have morning sun. Although on the main highway, it’s not busy during the night. There was on other RV overnighting with us, and it was a quiet night. There was good ATT coverage while roaming on Bell and good Verizon while roaming on Telus. There’s an IGA and Walmart in town good for stocking up. The Edmund Montague Exhibit is inside the Visitor Center and worth a visit. There are several hiking trails at Smokey Mountain, the alpine/nordic ski area near the Visitor Center.
