Dildo Run Provincial Park Campground

The staff running this park are possibly the funniest, nicest public campground staff we've ever met. After a somewhat stressful day of driving, they made us laugh and made us feel very welcome. We didn't have a reservation and they worked to find us the best site in the park that was available.The park itself is beautiful and not too far from Twillingate. The recycling and trash at every site is a nice amenity. The primary bathhouse is nice enough and they do offer laundry.

Cell coverage is nearly non-existent, but you can pick up 1 bar of 3G occasionally. Useful for getting a text out, but not much else.

Very nice Provincial Park - well maintained - Showers, Flush Toilets, Laundry, Dump Station. Water was labeled “ Boil “ but the staff says it test OK to drink. We didn’t take the chance so make sure your fresh water tank is full before you arrive. Close to Twillingate only 20 minutes away. Great place for seafood just down the road in Hillgrade - Doyle Sansome and Sons Ltd. We stayed 3 nights - highly recommend.

Nice campground on a lake. Good privacy between sites, our site 29 had water and electric. Boil water advisory posted but the person at the registration booth said everyone drinks it and that it's a government requirement to cover their liability. We've seen and heard this at other Prov Parks.

Campground has clean shower house, the ladies shower was good with strong water pressure and plenty hot. Husband complained about his shower being the opposite. There's also a laundry room, which we didn't check out.

Roads are gravel/dirt and were messy as it was raining for two days we were there in Sep.

No internet on Verizon.

This is a great location to overnight as it's <20 minutes to Twillingate and many trails and coast to explore.

Really, how can you pass up a campground named ‘Dildo Run’? And then, it turns out to be amazing.

The negatives: mosquitoes flying in killer flocks, the dirt road with bomb crater potholes, the (very nice) comfort building that seems like too far to get to, and the mosquitoes…also, moose signs but no moose.

The pluses: incredible location on the water. Some sites on the water - ask for site 4 - and all are well screened from adjacent sites. Close enough to Twillingate to do an out-and-back trip. Saw some amazing icebergs in July…

Of course, no Wi-Fi and bad cell connection, but loved the place
