“A Journey to the Deep Abyss!”
The sound is like thunder; the sight is awe-inspiring! Take a journey deep below and behind the heart of Niagara, and stand in the mist where the mighty Horseshoe Falls tumbles from 13 storeys above! At Journey Behind the Falls, you'll experience the awesome spectacle of one-fifth of the world’s fresh water crashing down to the basin below. During summer daylight hours, over 2,800 cubic meters of water thunders over the brink every second, traveling 65 kilometers per hour! Located at the brink of the Canadian Horseshoe Falls, in the Table Rock Welcome Centre. Elevators descend 150 feet through bedrock to tunnels leading to the Cataract Portal and the Great Falls Portal, one third of the way behind the massive sheet of water. Walk on to the Upper and Lower Observation Decks at the very foot of the Falls. In the spring and summer months, you'll receive a free souvenir biodegradable rain poncho as protection from the mist of the Falls.
Was a unique perspective and opportunity to walk behind the Falls. You're able to stop at two points behind the Falls and also walk out on a balcony beside the Falls. You will get wet but they provide rain ponchos.
Would be better if they didn't try to push so many people through. There is a lot of standing in line and crowds of people.
Also, a bit expensive for what you get.
Not worth it. Tunnels and elevators are stinky. Waiting time is about an hour. You only walk out to a small open platform close to the falls, but not behind. In the tunnels you are so far from the water, so you can’t experience it nor take a good picture. Boat were million times better.
Really cool experience! You get a great view without getting soaked on the boat.
It was fun to see different views and history of the falls
Did not like this as much as we liked the boat. The boat gets you closer and the views are amazing. The tunnels behind the falls lead to portals where you just see this rushing of water, in fact if you photograph it, you are explaining to everyone what they are actually looking at because it is so boring.
My kids, 10 and 9, just thought it was ok. Not as exciting as the description.
We did not like it - you cannot really see much in the tunnels.
We should have taken the boat
