This park has just been converted to a KOA. Price of $38 is in USD... it was $49 CAD including KOA discount and taxes. This is a giant RV Park, with hundreds of sites close together on a grassy field. Most sites are permanent / long-term RVs with decks built around them, but since they're not trailer homes or park models, the place still feels like an RV park and not a housing development. We had a full hookup 30-amp site which required three lengths of sewer hose to reach the sewer at the back of the site. Our site was very sloped, requiring many blocks under the front tires and jacks to get level. Also, backing into our site was difficult as it required backing up a steep incline to get to the site, and our new diesel pusher motorhome had difficulty with that. There are no trees in our area, so with 30 amp service we had difficulty keeping the motorhome cool on hot sunny days... fortunately most days were cloudy which helped a lot. We could not receive the WiFi signal at our site so we didn't try it. Our AT&T data roaming worked quite well, though it got very slow in the evening. We used Sussex as a base for exploring Fundy National Park, the Fundy Trail Parkway, and Hopewell Rocks with our tow car. It's a fair amount of driving to get to those attractions from Sussex but many of those side roads are in poor condition and we're glad we left the motorhome near the highway. Since the campground is so big we had plenty of places to walk our dog, and there's a small fenced dog park. The campground's interior dirt roads are pretty narrow, bumpy, and rutted, which made for a slow and shaky drive in the RV. Staff was friendly and helpful. Overall it's a decent place to stay while exploring the area, though if we visit again in the summer we'll try to get one of the few 50-amp sites.

We found ourselves caught in hurricane Dorian in Nova Scotia and found Sussex KOA as our “safe harbor” trying to outrun the winds and waves! The campground is mostly permanents or seasonals but is well cared for. Full hook up and 30 amp. Nice amenities and very nice staff. There is an drive in movie theater as well! We happened to arrive in the middle of the annual hot air balloon festival (September)! It looks like a great place to start exploring the area if we were staying. The only negative was the roads being gravel and dirt. We were very appreciative of the spot during the storm!

This KOA I will forever call the ‘party KOA’ if you are looking at this because this camp is easy to book for a night, be aware of the following: 1) it’s next to an active rail line 2) it’s next to a very active highway 3) the quiet hours are at midnight, which is the latest I’ve ever seen for a campground. That being said, the internet is pretty good (but you have to pay) and on weekends there’s a drive in movie theater (for a fee). So if you book here, understand you will not feel solitude or peace. I would embrace it, and make this the night you allow yourself to have a few beers during your roadtrip.
