“Start your wildlife watching adventure”
The Canadian Prairies were home to herds of thousands of Bison in the 1800’s, an animal attached to the livelihood of aboriginal people prior to settlement by Europeans. In Manitoba, this majestic creature is recognized as our Provincial animal. It is recognized that the herds crossed the Little Saskatchewan river as part of their migration route and in 1996, the Minnedosa Lake Rehabilitation Committee initiated a project to develop a permanent home for these animals here. Bison Park provides a spacious grazing area for the herd to live year round, while creating great vantage points for visitors to see these great animals from all sides.
