The main campground for Riding Mountain National Park, Wasagaming Campground offers sites with full hookups, electricity only and no service at a variety of price points Showers and toilets are available but were closed when we arrived October 4, 2017. The dump station remained open and fresh water fill too.
The campground is well treed and pretty though the tree cover is not dense enough to provide complete privacy. When we stayed, the campground was almost completely empty and we had to self-register. Park staff came by in the morning to drop off a receipt for us and let us know that since the showers were closed, we would be allowed to camp on a full hook up site for the price of electricity only.
The campground is adjacent to the town of Wasagaming which has a public park on the beautiful shores of Clear Lake. The town offers a variety of amenities catering to the tourist including laundry, internet cafe, shops and restaurants. The main visitor's centre for Riding Mountain NP is located here as well with a small gift shop.
Note that Riding Mountain National Park’s East Gate entrance is itself a National Historic Site. The impressive gate structure was built through the federal government’s depression era Unemployment Relief Act which provided funding to create employment in the 1930s.

There is a National Park fee and if you reserve on line, a reservation fee as well. Campfire was $8 and it was dry. In our area (electric only), there were no in ground fire pits but there were BBQ’s that you could use.
Sites were nicely spaced with bushes and trees in between. There were paved wheelchair accessible sites near the washrooms. Our site was sloped but that seemed to be the exception.
A ranger told us that this area has the largest concentration of black bears in North America. So bear precautions are a must - BBQ’s and any food stored in the vehicle at night. We did have a bear wander through the campground while we were there.
Wasagaming was very pretty - ice cream from the Lakehouse is a must. We did a short hike on the Brûlé loop and a longer one on the Gorge Creek Trail. Both were very enjoyable.
There was cell phone coverage (we use Rogers) at the campsite.

Loved the Experience! There’s plenty of rules in place for obviously reasons (wildlife and nature conservation). We opted for a site with full hookups which worked out great. The area is amazing for hiking and cycling so if able, bring your bikes. We saw black bears, elk, white tails :). Highly recommend for anyone thinking about making the trip!

Great campsite with plenty of access to nature & walkable to the town. The fire permit is worth it especially if it’s been dry - there aren’t any fire pits but you can use the grill or bring your own. There’s plenty space between sites and is well tree-covered.
Utilities are in the front of the sites, so if your electrical isn’t long enough, they will rent you an extension cord.
Verizon roaming has slight coverage here, obviously, it’s better in town.

We meet up here with our family every year in the fall. Nicely treed private or semi-private sites, large campground with all amenities, good cell service, located a short walk to townsite/beach. Riding Mountain National Park is a gorgeous with many sites and trails to explore. Factor in the cost of the park pass, required to access. Includes several wheelchair accessible sites and pull throughs.
Great campground, stayed one night and had a good time. Campsites are huge with pull through, amenities are decent. Woke up in the morning and some friendly neighbours showed me a black bear walking between the campsites. I recommend if you’re passing by
